Peru is one of the countries in the region that invests the least economic resources in research and development in relation to its GDP. In the words of Gustavo Crespi, specialist in the Competitiveness and Innovation Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), our country invests, to date, around 0.12% of GDP in R&D, despite the fact that, to achieve an increase In the sustainable growth rate, this investment should be in an approximate range of 0.7% to 0.8% (Agencia Andina 2019).
